Building Hope in Magnolia: Habitat for Humanity Launches "Marble Creek"
Real estate is about more than just buying and selling houses; it’s about building communities where everyone has a safe place to call home. That is why I am so excited to share some heartwarming news coming out of Magnolia this week.
Habitat for Humanity Montgomery County has officially celebrated the beginning of their newest neighborhood: Marble Creek.
As we watch our area grow rapidly—from Conroe to The Woodlands—affordability is a topic that comes up constantly. It is incredible to see local organizations and generous residents stepping up to ensure that growth includes opportunities for everyone.
What We Know About Marble Creek On December 3rd, community leaders gathered to celebrate this massive project. Here are the key details that make this such a win for Montgomery County:
- The Location: The neighborhood is located in Magnolia and sits on a beautiful 81-acre tract of land.
- The Scale: This isn't just a few houses; Marble Creek is designed to accommodate over 200 families.
- The Lifestyle: Just like any great master-planned community, it will feature amenities like a park, green space, and walking trails.
- The Timeline: Homebuilding is scheduled to begin in the Spring of 2026.
A Community Effort What makes this story truly special is how it came together. The land itself was donated by Brian and Shirelle Chimenti—an incredible gift that lays the foundation for hundreds of futures.
But the generosity didn't stop there. During the ceremony, Executive Director Vicki Johnson announced a $500,000 donation from an anonymous donor ($100,000 per year for five years) to help bring this vision to life. As Johnson said, she was "in tears all morning" from gratitude.
Why This Matters We’ve seen the success of Habitat’s first neighborhood, Cedar Creek in Conroe, which broke ground in 2009 and is now nearly built out. As Commissioner Charlie Riley noted, "This is going to be a great place... a lot of good folks are going to end up here."
Projects like Marble Creek strengthen the fabric of our entire county. They provide stability for local workforce families and prove that Montgomery County is a place where neighbors look out for neighbors.
If you are looking to get involved or want to learn more about the housing landscape in our area, keep an eye on this project. It’s going to be something special.
